How do I categorize my blog?

The following article explains how to categorize your blog. Categories, although optional, can be used to organize your blog. Once a category is created, existing posts and new posts may be moved into that category.

To categorize your blog, please follow these steps:

1. Open a browser window and access your blog using one of the following URLS:
   • http://blog.domainname.com/wp-login.php
   • http://domainname.com/wp-login.php (blog-only hosting plan customers)
   
2. Enter your username and password.
3. Click Login.
4. From the menu, select Manage.
5. From the Manage sub menu, select Categories.
6. Click add new next to Categories.
7. Enter the necessary information:
   • Name: enter a name for the category
   • Category Parent: select a parent category if the new category is a sub category
   • Description: enter a description for the category (optional)
   
8. Click Add Category.

To move an existing post into a category, please follow these steps:

1. From the Manage sub menu, select Posts.
2. From the post you wish to categorize, click Edit.
3. From the list of categories, select the category you wish to place this post in.
4. Click Save.
